WASHINGTON, DC –– Elect Democratic Women (EDW), the member-led committee dedicated to electing more Democratic women to Congress, raised a record-breaking $1.05M in the first quarter of the 2024 election cycle, from over 81,000 donations, and from all 50 states.
“Anti-choice Republican extremists want to ban all abortion, everywhere. The charge is underway by Republicans in Congress, Republican state legislatures and Trump appointed judges. They will only be stopped by a Democratic Congress that will pass the Women’s Health Protection Act that will restore the protections of Roe v. Wade,” said Elect Democratic Women Chair, Rep. Lois Frankel. “Clearly this incredibly strong first quarter shows that the American people want to elect more Democratic women to Congress who they can count on to fight for women’s reproductive rights, and other policies that will lift up women and their families.”
During the 2022 election cycle, EDW invested $5.7M to support more than 100 women running for office.

Elect Democratic Women was formed in 2018 by Democratic members of Congress with the purpose of electing more pro-choice Democratic women to Congress and higher office. We believe that democracy is best served by a diverse Congress that reflects the people they represent.
The Executive Board is made up of six sitting members of Congress: Chair Lois Frankel, Rep. Joyce Beatty, Rep. Julia Brownley, Rep. Chrissy Houlahan, Rep. Annie Kuster, and Rep. Norma Torres.
