WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Elect Democratic Women (EDW), the Congressional Member-led committee dedicated to electing Democratic women to Congress, announced its endorsement of Jessica Morse for California’s 3rd Congressional District.
“Unafraid to tackle tough issues, Jessica listens to her community to find solutions to the hardest problems. She has a diverse background, from working to mitigate California wildfires, to working in foreign aid and national security, that will bring a unique and important perspective to Congress,” said Rep. Lois Frankel (D-FL), chair of Elect Democratic Women. “The Elect Democratic Women Board is confident that she will be a champion for reproductive freedom and policies that uplift women and families and proudly endorses Jessica’s campaign. She is a true public servant and the kind of fighter we need in Congress.”
“I have never been one to run from a challenge. When the Camp Fire broke out in 2018, I volunteered to help those impacted and then dedicated myself to improving our state’s wildfire prevention efforts. Prior to serving as California’s Deputy Secretary for Wildfire Resilience, I spent a decade in national security, including serving a tour in Iraq and working alongside our troops for eighteen months. And as a fifth-generation Northern Californian, whose ancestors crossed the Sierra, my commitment to tackling tough issues has been the driving force throughout my career in public service. Now, I’m ready to bring my experience and passion for making a difference to Congress, and to continue fighting for my community,” said Jessica Morse.
