Elect Democratic Women Endorses Deb Haaland for Governor of New Mexico

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Elect Democratic Women (EDW), the Congressional Member-led committee dedicated to electing Democratic women to Congress and higher office, announced its endorsement of Deb Haaland for Governor of New Mexico.

“Elect Democratic Women is proud to endorse Deb Haaland in her campaign to become the Governor of New Mexico. As a Member of the House of Representatives and as Secretary of the Interior, Deb has been a trailblazer bringing sharp leadership to every role she has held. We have had the privilege of working alongside her and know firsthand her energy, ability, and deep love for her home state. She has championed family-friendly policies, environmental protection, and justice for Indigenous women. We are confident she will serve New Mexico with strength and integrity, and we look forward to supporting her in this next chapter of leadership,” said EDW Chair, Rep. Lois Frankel.

“I am honored to receive the support of Elect Democratic Women,” said Deb Haaland. “It has always been my top priority to protect the interests of all New Mexicans by bringing jobs to our state, preserving our beautiful landscapes and natural resources, supporting small businesses, and working to protect women’s rights. I look forward to continuing to serve the people of New Mexico as our state’s next Governor.”

The Executive Board is made up of five sitting members of Congress: Chair Lois Frankel, Rep. Joyce Beatty, Rep. Julia Brownley, Rep. Chrissy Houlahan, and Rep. Norma Torres.
