Elect Democratic Women Expands Board with Seven New Members

WASHINGTON, DC – Elect Democratic Women (EDW), the Congressional Member-led committee dedicated to electing Democratic women to Congress, announced seven new additions to its Board of Directors today.

Rep. Debbie Dingell (MI-12) joins the Executive Board, while Reps. Nikki Budzinski (IL-13), Laura Friedman (CA-30), Julie Johnson (TX-32), Jennifer McClellan (VA-04), Melanie Stansbury (NM-01), and Jill Tokuda (HI-02) join as At-Large Board Members.

Following a record-breaking 2024 cycle, these new Board members will help EDW expand its efforts to elect and retain Democratic women in Congress.

Elect Democratic Women was formed in 2018 by Democratic members of Congress with the purpose of electing more pro-choice Democratic women to Congress and higher office, based on the understanding that democracy is best served by a Congress that reflects the people they represent. 

The Executive Board is made up of five sitting members of Congress: Chair Lois Frankel, Rep. Joyce Beatty, Rep. Julia Brownley, Rep. Debbie Dingell, and Rep. Norma Torres and the At-Large Board Members are Rep. Nikki Budzinski, Rep. Laura Friedman, Rep. Julie Johnson, Rep. Jennifer McClellan, Rep. Melanie Stansbury, and Rep. Jill Tokuda.
