DCCC Names Eight Elect Democratic Women-Endorsed Women to Coveted Red-to-Blue List

EDW-endorsed women make up 8 of the 12 spots on the initial Red to Blue list

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Elect Democratic Women (EDW), the Congressional member-led committee dedicated to electing Democratic women to Congress, proudly recognized the naming of eight EDW-endorsed women to the DCCC’s competitive 2026 Red to Blue program. The Red to Blue program spotlights top-tier Democratic challengers and provides them with the resources and strategic support needed to put them in the strongest position possible to win in November. Of the 12 candidates included on the initial Red to Blue list, two-thirds are EDW-endorsed women.

“These eight outstanding women make it clear that the path to winning back the House runs through electing Democratic women,” said Congresswoman Lois Frankel, Chair of Elect Democratic Women. “Across the country, EDW-endorsed candidates are leading the charge to take back the majority, hold Republicans accountable, and lower costs for hardworking American families. Elect Democratic Women will work tirelessly to ensure these women are victorious in November.”

The eight EDW-endorsed women named to the first round of the Red to Blue program are:

  • JoAnna Mendoza – Arizona’s 6th Congressional District
  • Christina Bohannan – Iowa’s 1st Congressional District
  • Sarah Trone Garriott – Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District
  • Paige Cognetti – Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District
  • Janelle Stelson – Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District
  • Shannon Taylor – Virginia’s 1st Congressional District
  • Elaine Luria – Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District
  • Rebecca Cooke – Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District

Each of these women are running in competitive districts across the country and have already demonstrated extraordinary grassroots strength, community support, and campaign organization.
