Elect Democratic Women Announces Additional Candidate Endorsements in Critical Midterm Cycle

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Elect Democratic Women, the only member-led political action committee dedicated to increasing the number of women in Congress, announced additional candidate endorsements for U.S. House of Representatives in midterm elections in 2022. The list includes:

  1. CA-27: Christy Smith
  2. CA-37: Sydney Kamlager 
  3. CO-07: Brittany Pettersen
  4. IL-03: Delia Ramirez
  5. MD-04: Donna Edwards
  6. MI-03: Hillary Scholten
  7. OH-13: Emilia Sykes
  8. OR-04: Val Hoyle 
  9. WI-03: Deb McGrath

“Elect Democratic Women is proud to support these exceptional candidates for Congress. These women are running critical races focused on the issues most important to women and working families. We look forward to welcoming them to the Democratic caucus,” said Rep. Lois Frankel (D-FL), EDW Chair. 

This latest round of 2022 endorsements adds to a growing list of impressive candidates from across the country. EDW has endorsed Kirsten Engel (AZ-06), Dr. Yadira Caraveo (CO-08), Michele Rayner (FL-13), Christina Bohannan (IA-01), Liz Mathis (IA-02), Nikki Budzinski (IL-13), Heather Mizeur (MD-01), and Jackie Gordon (NY-01). 

Elect Democratic Women was formed in 2018 by Democratic members of Congress with the purpose of electing more Democratic women to Congress, based on the understanding that democracy is best served by a diverse Congress that reflects the people they represent. Chaired by Rep. Lois Frankel (D-FL), the Board includes Congressional Black Caucus Chair Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-OH), Rep. Julia Brownley (D-CA), Rep. Cheri Bustos (D-IL), Assistant Speaker Rep. Katherine Clark (D-MA), Rep. Annie Kuster (D-NH), and Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-CA).
