Elect Democratic Women Announces Independent Expenditure in Support of Lt. Gov. Sabina Matos

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Elect Democratic Women (EDW) announced an Independent Expenditure in the RI-01 special election in support of Lt. Gov. Sabina Matos. Elect Democratic Women partnered with EMILYs List’s Independent Expenditure arm, Women Vote! to produce an ad that highlights Matos’ track-record of protecting women’s reproductive freedoms and expanding access to reproductive care.

Elect Democratic Women’s ad “Relentless” will air on Providence broadcast and cable television from August 15th though August 21st at a total cost of $150,000.

“Sabina Matos made history when she was elected to be Rhode Island’s Lieutenant Governor and will make history again when she is elected to be the first Afro-Latina woman to serve in Congress. She has the experience, passion, determination, and empathy needed to represent Rhode Islanders in Congress and fight for policies that protect women and their families,” said Elect Democratic Women Chair, Rep. Lois Frankel. “Elect Democratic Women is confident that she is the best person for the job. We are proud to continue our support for Sabina’s campaign and look forward to serving alongside her in Congress.”

Script: “Relentless”
When it comes to protecting our reproductive freedom, no one fights and wins like Sabina Matos.
As President of the Providence City Council and as our Lieutenant Governor, Sabina fought for stronger protections for abortion rights.
She helped expand access to critical reproductive care across Rhode Island.
That’s why pro-choice groups endorse Sabina Matos – the best choice for Congress. Relentless. Leadership. That’s Sabina Matos.
Elect Democratic Women is responsible for the content of this ad.
