Elect Democratic Women Announces Independent Expenditure Investment in Support of Joanna Weiss for CA-47

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Elect Democratic Women (EDW) announced an Independent Expenditure in the CA-47 primary election in support of Joanna Weiss. The six-figure investment includes two ads that will run on digital and streaming platforms for one week starting on February 13th.

Elect Democratic Women’s ad “Trust” highlights Joanna’s experience as a law professor, working mom, and voting rights advocate and that she has never taken corporate PAC money. “At Stake” touts Joanna as the best candidate to protect the abortion rights at stake in this election. The total buy is $130,000.

“The path to taking back the House majority and protecting women’s reproductive rights depends on Democrats’ ability to hold this critical open seat and Joanna Weiss is undoubtedly the best candidate to do so,” said Elect Democratic Women Chair, Rep. Lois Frankel. “As a former law professor, voting rights advocate, and working mom, Joanna has a proven track record of fighting to protect abortion access and serving her community, not special interests. We need Joanna in Congress and Elect Democratic Women is proud to support her campaign.”

Script: “Trust”
Orange County voters have a choice.
And the Leader we can trust is Joanna Weiss.
She was a law professor, advocate for seniors and voting rights, and she’ll always put us first.
Not special interests.
We can trust Weiss in Congress.

Script: “At Stake”
If Republicans pass a national abortion ban, Californian’s rights are at risk.
Joanna Weiss knows what’s at stake.
She’s a former law professor and mom who refuses corporate PAC money.
So we can trust her to fight for us and our rights.
