WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Elect Democratic Women (EDW), the Congressional Member-led committee dedicated to electing Democratic women to Congress, congratulated Congresswoman-elect Adelita Grijalva on her victory in the Arizona 7th Congressional District Special Election. Congresswoman-elect Grijalva will be the 97th Democratic woman in the House of Representatives, bringing Elect Democratic Women closer to its goal of electing 100 Democratic women to the House this cycle.
“Congratulations to Congresswoman-elect Adelita Grijalva on her decisive victory. Adelita is a proven leader who has dedicated her career to expanding opportunities for children and families. We know she’ll continue that work in Congress by fighting back against attempts to cut funding for public schools and affordable housing and this administration’s actions that are raising everyday costs for families. Congresswoman-elect Grijalva is a champion for her community, and Elect Democratic Women is thrilled to welcome her as our newest colleague,” said Elect Democratic Women Chair, Rep. Lois Frankel.
