WASHINGTON, DC – Elect Democratic Women (EDW), the Congressional Member-led committee dedicated to electing Democratic women to Congress, congratulated Connie Chan on her primary victory in California’s 11th Congressional District. Connie will advance to the general election to hold this seat for Democrats.
“Connie Chan doesn’t just talk about delivering for her community, she does it,” said Liz Gallagher, Executive Director of Elect Democratic Women. “She has spent her career protecting essential services, securing resources that hardworking families need to get ahead, and fighting to ensure every San Franciscan has access to health care, housing, and opportunity. Those are exactly the progressive values that have defined California’s 11th District, and Connie is ready to carry them forward to Congress. It’s these qualities that garnered the critical endorsement of Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, who served this district for almost 40 years, and why EDW is confident Chan will prevail in November.”
Connie Chan has spent her career serving the people of San Francisco. She currently sits on the Board of Supervisors, where she has led efforts to protect essential services, including creating a $400 million reserve to safeguard health care, housing, and food security, and securing additional support for immigrant legal defense.
