WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Elect Democratic Women (EDW), the Congressional Member-led committee dedicated to electing Democratic women to Congress, congratulated Denise Powell on her hard-fought primary victory in Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District. NE-02 is one of three seats that Harris won in 2024 that is currently held by a Republican, and with tonight’s win, Denise is one step closer to flipping this critical seat.
“Elect Democratic Women congratulates Denise on her historic victory in tonight’s primary election,” said Liz Gallagher, Executive Director of Elect Democratic Women. “A mom and longtime champion for public education, affordable health care, and reproductive rights, Denise has spent her career fighting to give her community the resources and opportunities needed to succeed. Her unyielding energy and steadfast commitment to her constituents is exactly what we need in Congress, and Elect Democratic Women is all in to flip this seat in November.”
Denise will advance to the general election to face the Republican nominee in November. Elect Democratic Women is proud to have invested over $300,000 into Denise’s race.
Denise Powell is a mom, small business owner, former corporate executive, public school champion and healthcare advocate. After Trump’s election in 2016, she founded an organization that has supported hundreds of Nebraskans running for local office, protected our public schools and the families they serve, and helped stop extremists from passing abortion bans in the state.
