WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Elect Democratic Women (EDW), the Congressional Member-led committee dedicated to electing Democratic women to Congress, congratulates Donna Miller (IL-02) and Melissa Bean (IL-08) on their victories in the Illinois primary elections.

Lois Frankel. “They bring a wealth of experience shaped by their personal stories, leadership in their communities, and work in both the public and private sectors, and we are confident they will continue to be strong voices for Illinois families.”
Donna Miller, IL-02: Donna Miller has served as Cook County Commissioner for the 6th District since 2018. Prior to her election, she built a career as a health care consultant and community advocate, working to lower costs for working families, increase opportunity, and expand access to health care. Donna Miller will advance to the general election and face Michael Noack as she works to hold this critical seat for Democrats.
Melissa Bean, IL-08: Melissa Bean represented Illinois’s 8th Congressional District in Congress from 2005 to 2011. During her time in the House, she worked to lower health care costs, strengthen financial protections for consumers, and support economic recovery following the financial crisis. After leaving Congress, she built a career in business and consulting, helping companies grow and create jobs while continuing to support community organizations across Illinois. Melissa will advance to the general election as she works to hold this critical seat for Democrats.
