Sylvia Garcia (TX-29) on their victories and Rep. Julie Johnson (TX-33) for advancing to a runoff in last night’s primary elections in North Carolina and Texas.

Rep. Valerie Foushee, NC-04: Rep. Valerie Foushee has represented North Carolina’s 4th Congressional District in Congress since 2023. Prior to her election, she served in the North Carolina state senate and house, building a strong record of fighting to deliver the tools her community needs to succeed–good education, access to health care, and good-paying jobs. Rep. Foushee will advance to the general election to hold this critical seat for Democrats.
Rep. Sylvia Garcia, TX-29: Rep. Sylvia Garcia has represented the Houston area in Congress since 2019. Prior to serving in the House, she built a long record of public service as a state senator, Harris County Commissioner, and Houston City Controller. A dedicated champion for her community and for expanding opportunity, Rep. Garcia will advance to the general election to hold this critical seat for Democrats.
Rep. Julie Johnson, TX-33: EDW Board Member, Rep. Julie Johnson has represented the Dallas area in Congress since 2025. Prior to her election, she served in the Texas House and built a career as an attorney. A strong advocate for working families and lower costs, Rep. Johnson will advance to a runoff election against Democrat Colin Allred as she works to hold this critical seat for Democrats.
