Elect Democratic Women Endorses Congresswoman Julie Johnson for Texas’ 33rd Congressional District

WASHINGTON, DC – Elect Democratic Women (EDW), the Congressional Member-led committee dedicated to electing Democratic women to Congress, announced its endorsement of Congresswoman Julie Johnson for Texas’ 33rd Congressional District.

“Elect Democratic Women is proud to endorse Congresswoman and EDW Board Member Julie Johnson for Texas’s 33rd Congressional District. From defending workers’ rights as an attorney to championing Medicaid expansion in Texas, Julie has proved time and again that she gets things done and never backs down from a fight– and this time is no different. Julie refuses to back down against Republican efforts to silence voters for their own political gain. Texans deserve a leader who will stand with them, fight to lower costs, and help hard-working families get the tools they need to succeed. Julie is that leader, and we need her in Congress,” said Congresswoman Lois Frankel, Chair of Elect Democratic Women.

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of Elect Democratic Women,” said Congresswoman Julie Johnson. “I’ve spent my career fighting for Texans who work hard and play by the rules, first as an attorney standing up for workers’ rights, then in the Texas Legislature advocating for Medicaid expansion so families could afford health care. In Congress, I’m focused on making sure working families have what they need– affordable healthcare, safe communities, and good-paying jobs that let them provide for their families and contribute to their communities. I will keep fighting to give hardworking Texans the foundation they need to build the future they deserve, and I’ll never back down from those who put politics over people.”
