WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Elect Democratic Women (EDW), the Congressional Member-led committee dedicated to electing Democratic women to Congress, announced its endorsement of Laura Fine for Illinois’ 9th Congressional District.
“After her husband was denied health care during a crisis, Laura turned personal hardship into action—working to ensure no other Illinois family faces the same,” said EDW Chair, Congresswoman Lois Frankel. “In the state legislature, she’s fought to lower costs, expand access to care, and protect consumers. Laura brings the experience and commitment needed to deliver results, and she’s ready to serve in Congress.”
“My work in public service has always been driven by making sure hard-working families are treated fairly,” said Senator Laura Fine. “When my own family was denied the care my husband needed, it strengthened my commitment to fix a system that too often puts people through unnecessary hardship. In the Illinois Legislature, I’ve worked to expand access to health care, lower costs, and protect consumers. In Congress, I’ll continue that work, fighting for policies that put families first and holding Donald Trump’s corrupt and lawless administration accountable. I’m grateful for Elect Democratic Women’s support.”
