Elect Democratic Women Endorses Marlene Galán-Woods for Arizona’s 1st Congressional District

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Elect Democratic Women (EDW), the Congressional Member-led committee dedicated to electing more Democratic women to Congress, announced its endorsement of Marlene Galán-Woods for Arizona’s 1st Congressional District.

“Marlene has proven herself to be a trusted voice in her community, a tenacious fighter, and a laser-focused advocate for children,” said Rep. Lois Frankel (D-FL), Chair of Elect Democratic Women. “As a broadcast journalist, Marlene dedicated her career to exposing corruption and holding Arizona leaders accountable for their actions. She has been an outspoken advocate for a woman’s right to choose, a champion for Arziona’s children, and a staunch protector of Democracy. Her unwavering dedication to improving the lives of Arizona’s women and families makes her the ideal choice to represent Arizona’s 1st Congressional District in Congress and EDW is proud to endorse her candidacy.”

“There are many reasons why I made the necessary decision to run for Congress, but ultimately, I couldn’t stand on the sidelines while the Supreme Court stripped away the rights of my daughter and every woman in this country. We need strong leaders in Congress who will fight for policies to support women and their families, and I am the woman for the job. I am honored to have the endorsement of Elect Democratic Women and am looking forward to serving alongside the strong women in Congress to ensure my district’s needs are met.” said Marlene Galán-Woods.
