Elect Democratic Women Endorses Rep. Abigail Spanberger for Governor of Virginia

WASHINGTON, DC β€“ Today, Elect Democratic Women (EDW), the Congressional Member-led committee dedicated to electing Democratic women to Congress and higher office, announced its endorsement of U.S. Rep. Abigail Spanberger for Governor of Virginia.

β€œIt is an honor for the Elect Democratic Women Board to endorse our esteemed colleague Rep. Abigail Spanberger for Governor of Virginia,” said Rep. Lois Frankel (D-FL), Chair of Elect Democratic Women. β€œAbigail has always been a dedicated public servant. From working in the U.S. Postal Inspection Service to her time in the CIA, she has shown her commitment to our nation and our values. As a Member of Congress, Abigail has been a staunch advocate for policies that uplift women and families and protect reproductive freedoms. As Governor, she will rise to any challenge and continue to be a fierce advocate for Virginia’s working families.”

β€œI’ve been proud to work alongside the members of Elect Democratic Women during my time serving Virginians in the U.S. House. Together, we have fought to lower prescription drug costs, increase opportunity, support our veterans, and protect reproductive freedom. I know what it means to rise above division and dysfunction to get things done for Virginia’s families, and will bring that same dedication to the Governor’s office. I’m honored to receive an endorsement from Elect Democratic Women, and I look forward to continuing to work together toward progress,” said Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA).
