The Caucus PAC supported Stansbury’s campaign by raising more than $100,000 in contributions
WASHINGTON, DC –– Today, Elect Democratic Women (EDW) congratulates Melanie Stansbury for her decisive victory in the special election for New Mexico’s First Congressional District.
With help from Speaker Nancy Pelosi, member outreach, and online fundraising, EDW donated and raised more than $100,000 for the campaign, including support from more than 30 current Members of the Democratic Caucus.
“We are thrilled to welcome Melanie Stansbury to Congress and congratulate her on a strategic and positive campaign. Melanie Stansbury is an experienced leader, policy maker, and science professional who will be a champion for New Mexico families,” said EDW Chair, Rep. Lois Frankel. “After supporting more than 100 women running for office in 2020, EDW is building capacity to multiply our efforts in 2022. The American Families Plan and American Jobs Plan are prime examples of how women in leadership can prioritize women and families who have historically been left behind. Women are the key to holding the House Majority, and we are ready to support incumbents and candidates in critical elections across the country.”
