Following the Anniversary of the Dobbs Decision, Elect Democratic Women Announces Endorsement of Reps. Elissa Slotkin and Lisa Blunt Rochester in their Races for United States Senate

WASHINGTON, DC – Following the one year anniversary of the Dobbs decision that overturned Roe v. Wade, Elect Democratic Women (EDW) is announcing its endorsement of Rep. Elissa Slotkin for U.S. Senate in Michigan and Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester for U.S. Senate in Delaware.

“The last year has proven what we have known all along about extreme anti-choice Republicans—they want to use all levels of government and a judiciary filled with Trump-appointed judges to rip away access to abortion for millions of women across the country. Our colleagues, Reps. Elissa Slotkin and Lisa Blunt Rochester, have been at the forefront of the fight to protect a woman’s right to choose, and to advocate for women and their families across the board, and we know they’d be uniquely effective in the Senate advancing the policies and priorities we share. Elect Democratic Women most enthusiastically endorses their candidacies,” said Elect Democratic Women Chair, Rep. Lois Frankel.

“Especially after the first anniversary of the Dobbs decision, we know that women’s rights are under threat across the United States. It’s never been more important to have strong, pro-choice women in leadership positions at all levels of government. That’s one of the big reasons why I’m running for the U.S. Senate, and it’s been the mission of Elect Democratic Women since 2018. I’m thrilled to have their support in this race and I’m excited to work with them over the next year to elect progressive women in Michigan and around the country in 2024,” said Rep. Elissa Slotkin.

“It has been an honor to serve alongside the members of Elect Democratic Women. In this pivotal point in history, having the support of my colleagues is immensely gratifying, knowing they have my back, and are going to work with me arm-in-arm to protect a woman’s right to choose,” said Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester.
