Today, Elect Democratic Women (EDW), the Congressional Member-led committee dedicated to electing Democratic women to Congress, announced its endorsement of Stefany Shaheen for New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District.
“Elect Democratic Women is proud to endorse Stefany Shaheen for Congress,” said Liz Gallagher, Executive Director for Elect Democratic Women. “She turned her child’s health challenges into action, becoming a passionate advocate for groundbreaking medical research while building a successful career as an entrepreneur and business leader.
Her hard-fought primary victory shows she has the determination to keep NH-01 in the Democratic column and deliver for New Hampshire families in Congress. We are proud to endorse her as we work to elect a historic 100 Democratic women to the House and Win with Women.”
“I’ve spent more than 2 decades fighting for New Hampshire families — from child care and health care to cleaning up contaminated water and creating jobs — proving that when something isn’t working, you don’t give up — you fight to change it. That’s the fight I’m bringing to Congress: standing up for New Hampshire families and making sure our voices are heard in Washington. I’m grateful to have Elect Democratic Women alongside me in this fight,” said Stefany Shaheen.
The path to a Democratic House majority and a more representative Congress runs through women. Led by current members of Congress, Elect Democratic Women has spent the past several years investing in women candidates and members in districts across the country — helping build a stronger bench of Democratic women at every level of the House.
