Elect Democratic Women’s Sister PAC Pro-Choice Women Announces New Independent Expenditure Investment for Rep. Jahana Hayes (CT-05), Increases Existing Investments for Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-03), Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08), and Christina Bohannan (IA-01)

WASHINGTON, DC –– Today, Elect Democratic Women (EDW) announced a new round of Independent Expenditure investments from their sister PAC, Pro-Choice Women. The $275k investment will be used for a new Independent Expenditure investment for Rep. Jahana Hayes (CT-05) and increased investments for Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-03), Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08), and Christina Bohannan (IA-01). The ads will focus on their Republican opponents’ extreme positions opposing access to legal abortion, denying women the freedom to make their own personal health care decisions.

The breakdown of the expenditures is as follows:

  • $100k on digital platforms in CT-05- Rep. Jahana Hayes
  • $50k on digital platforms to add to a previous $400k buy in WA-03- Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez
  • $75k on digital platforms to add to a previous 250k buy in IA-01- Christina Bohannan
  • $50k on Cable TV to add to a previous $250k buy in MI-08- Kristen McDonald Rivet

This investment comes after Elect Democratic Women previously announced over $2.4M in investments from Pro-Choice Women and Elect Democratic Women PACs to support candidates Rep. Yadira Caraveo (CO-08), Christina Bohannan (IA-01), Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08), Rep. Marcy Kaptur (OH-09), Rep. Emilia Sykes (OH-13), Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-03), and Rebecca Cooke (WI-03).

“All these democratic candidates are fierce champions of women’s reproductive freedom that includes access to legal abortion. When Democrats take back the House, we will protect women from a nationwide abortion ban and pass the Women’s Health Protection Act that will ensure access to abortion in every zip code in our country. Elect Democratic Women is proud to support their campaigns— we can’t let extreme Republicans continue their efforts to strip women of their fundamental rights,” said Elect Democratic Women Chair, Rep. Lois Frankel.
